Booktube-a-thon - Day 3 - I suck.

I went on a trip yesterday so I didn't actually read that much so I'z got a reason for not reading too much. I read as follows:

5 pages from Made of Steel (Doctor Who book)
30 pages of Scott Pilgrim 2 (which I finished)
30 pages of Scott Pilgrim 3
30 pages of Son of Neptune
_______________________________________

Total: 95 pages.

Yep.
At least I tried. I might try to finish the rest of the Scott Pilgrim novels, because I have people coming over in the weekend.

Goodbye.

Booktube-a-thon - day 2 - I tried

Sooo yesterday I read a bit more. I finished the first Scott Pilgrim graphic novel (watwatwat!) and then I read almost all of the second one and then I read about 43 pages from Son of Neptune.

In total I read:
Scott Pilgrim 1 - 46 pages
Scott Pilgrim 2 - 155 pages
Son of Poseidon - 43 pages

Total - 244 pages

THAT'S REALLY FUCKING AWESOME! Really proud of myself. Now, I have to keep up the good work and read some more until tomorrow. YAY!

Like I'm gonna read. I'M TOO TIRED FOR THIS SHIT!

K, bye.

Booktube-a-thon - day 1 (which was yesterday) - I'm already failing.

Soooo yesterday was meh. I didn't read all that much. Almost nothing. I was away most of the day and I didn't read, even if I could've. I was in the car for about 30% of the time I was away.

Oh well. I read about 6% of Son of Neptune, which is about 26 pages on my iPod, or 32.4 pages from the actual book. Well, I do suck. I'm not exactly sorry. I might read more today, and finish some Scott Pilgrim. I'm going to university to register tomorrow and I will have a lot of time to read, so I'll try to read then :\ I'm taking a short Doctor Who book with me, about 100 pages, which I'm hoping to finish in the car. Also, I finished watching Lovely Complex yesterday, so that's another reason I sucked balls at it.

Anywho, I'm gonna try to read something today. At least finish one Scott Pilgrim novel. C'mon, they're 150 pages each and they're really fast to read!

k. Goodbye,
D.

12 July, 2014

I may regret this.

THE BOOKTUBEATHON IS HAPPENING NEXT WEEK AND HOLY SHIT! I'm kinda scared. I want to participate, as I haven't read that much this year because school and, well. I need to catch up. SO! I have decided that I will try to participate this year.

If you don't know what the booktubeathon is go check out their official YouTube channel and Twitter! More info there!

First off, there are some things I need to get clear. Last year I didn't participate, but I tried to participate in a later one but I gave up after the first day. And this week is a tiny bit busy, but not too busy. I'm going to university to register myself and that's going to take a full day, but I still have about 5 hours of traveling in total. I don't know. I might not get to read that much. And I'm probably jinxing it right now with this post. I promised myself that I wouldn't do it, but oh well.

Second off, there are some challenges that you can take and I might attempt doing them.

To complete the books with pictures, finish a series, genre I've least read and a book to movie adaptation I'll be reading all 6 volumes of Scott Pilgrim. This is probably cheating, but they're 6 MOTHER FUCKING VOLUMES! And they're all about 150 pages each. I will be watching the movie probably next weekend or something.
For the book with red on the cover, I'll be finishing Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan.

HIS NAME IS RED! I DON'T GIVE A DAMN! IT COUNTS! Totally counts.

As for a book that someone chose for me, I asked a friend to choose between TFiOS, Warm Bodies, Anna and the French Kiss, This is What Happy Looks Like and The Geography of You and Me, and he chose This is What Happy Looks Like. HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT HE CHOSE MUHAHA! Yes, I am kinda evil. Well.

If my math is correct, I might end up reading 8 books in the booktubeathon. Which I hope to accomplish. So, I am going to try to do this! Good.

I'm leaving now.

Goodbye,
D.

I'M BAAACK! And I bring review.

I'M BAAAACK!

It's been a while. A long while.

:D:D:D:D:D

I have passed my horrible exams. And I'm happy. So I can not blog more than I did before. YAY! I haven't been reding as much as I wished I did, but I couldn't. I've been reading The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan for the past 3 weeks, and I really wanna finish it cuz I'Z GOT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END HOLY JESUS MARY AND JOSEPH!
So, as I was saying, I have a review for you today. I am back with a review for City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare.

------------THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!------------

SYNOPSIS:
In this dazzling and long-awaited conclusion to the acclaimed Mortal Instruments series, Clary and her friends fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary's own brother.

Sebastian Morgenstern is on the move, systematically turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter. Bearing the Infernal Cup, he transforms Shadowhunters into creatures out of nightmare, tearing apart families and lovers as the ranks of his Endarkened army swell.

The embattled Shadowhunters withdraw to Idris - but not even the famed demon towers of Alicante can keep Sebastian at bay. And with the Nephilim trapped in Idris, who will guard the world against demons?

When one of the greatest betrayals the Nephilim have ever known is revealed, Clary, Jace, Isabelle, Simon, and Alec must flee - even if their journey takes them deep into the demon realms, where no Shadowhunter has set foot before, and from which no human being has ever returned...

Love will be sacrificed and lives lost in the terrible battle for the fate of the word in the thrilling final installment of the classic urban fantasy series The Mortal Instruments!

THOUGHTS

I liked it. At first I thought it was like holy shit the best thing in the world. I was infatuated with it. But whilst reading it I kind had some issues with it. The writing style was BRILLIANT! And everything was beautifully done. But I feel like everything was too perfect. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that Simon didn't die, nor did any other characters that I love, but it was too perfect. People might hate me for saying this, because this is fiction, and even fantasy, and I might not be right, but in life people die, and it doesn't matter if they're your favourite people or not, especially because there was war in the book. But this was actually balanced out by everything else. One death that made me so shocked and it made me feel stuff was the death of Raphael. I was so shocked and soooo saddnened by this, you don't even know. I teared up, and I barely cry at books. I was expecting him to die, I wasn't spoiled, but I was still shocked and I suffered for him, even if he's not my favourite character, he's really cool. I really wished he got to live. Holy shit I'm crying again. For some reason, not many people were devastated by his death. Well. Another aspect I didn't really get and I thought was kinda meh, was the Maia POV. I kinda get why she wanted to brake up with him, but the rest I didn't get. Well. That's just my opinion.
The thing that made me sob like a fuck lot was the part when Simon, my dear, dear Simon, my love, thought he was in The Hunger Games and volunteered as a tribute for Magnus' father. I was reading in bed and I had to get out of the house to read further and calm down because I didn't want my parents to hear me cry. I cried for a good 10 to 15 minutes. And then when I stopped I remembered that Simon forgot everything and then I cried some more. When a character forgets everything that happened is worse then that character dying. And Simon is my favourite character in this series. And I couldn't take it.
This book had its share of wtfs and funny stuff and the ending was really funny. I think I would've enjoyed the book more if I wasn't stupid enough to spoil myself with the ending and what happens with Simon. The thing with Simon's band being called "The Mortal Instruments" was like HOLY FUCK NOPENOPENOPE YOU DID FUCKING NOT! And I kinda cried again and it was so lovely and beautiful wow. And Jem, stahp stealing cats. And Sizzy, stop being so fucking cute.

All in all, this book was actually a really good conclusion to a really good series, compared to other shitty endings for series *cough*allegiant*cough*. However, my favourite will remain Champion because that one made me feel stuff.
