My take on the Allegiant movie split.

This appeared on the internet just a few minutes ago.

My thoughts are that I don't agree. It's a pretty bad idea.
First off, the critics have already dissed on Divergent and compared it too much to The Hunger Games. Now it will be worse after this news. Divergent is very different from THG and, in my opinion, a bit better than THG. But this last book does not have to be turned into two movies.
Mockingjay needed to be turned into two movies. There's no way you could fit that much information into just one movie. And things need to be explained in this one. But Allegiant does not need this. Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie. However, the things that need to be said in the movie aren't that many in Allegiant. I'm kinda disappointed by this news. Maybe I'll change my mind about this after I reread Allegiant but right now, I dislike the idea of this being turned into two movies. There's absolutely no point in doing so. I don't mind waiting for the movie. Take as long as you need to make the book justice and just make a great movie, but don't split a book into two just because that's what happened with the rest of the YA books that were turned into movies. I'm waiting for the things the director and the screenwriters have to say about the book being turned into two movies and why they came to this decision. I suppose it might be to just tell the story better and to tell Tris's story better and to just make the ending justice. If you read the book, you know what I mean. If not, I will not spoil you.

Anyway, this has been my take on the split. I hope you see what I mean.

Goodbye,
D.
