Ruby Red Triogy - THE review

I have a theory for why I love cats so much. This does NOT mean I don't adore dogs. I love them a lot and sometimes I like them better than cats. I think that in my other life I was a dog -> dogs love cats (somehow) -> I love cats. That would make a fuckload of sense because I sometimes tend to act like a overly excited dog. Yap...

So I finished the last book from the trilogy on Wednesday. Holy fuck. I just love them so much... MY POOR FEELS! Here's a brief description of all three books taken from goodreads.

------Do NOT read this if you want to read the books. Might contain spoilers------

Ruby Red

Gwyneth Shepherd's sophisticated, beautiful cousin Charlotte has been prepared her entire life for traveling through time. But unexpectedly, it is Gwyneth, who in the middle of class takes a sudden spin to a different era!

Gwyneth must now unearth the mystery of why her mother would lie about her birth date to ward off suspicion about her ability, brush up on her history, and work with Gideon--the time traveler from a similarly gifted family that passes the gene through its male line, and whose presence becomes, in time, less insufferable and more essential. Together, Gwyneth and Gideon journey through time to discover who, in the 18th century and in contemporary London, they can trust.

Sapphire Blue

Gwen’s life has been a rollercoaster since she discovered she was the Ruby, the final member of the secret time-traveling Circle of Twelve. In between searching through history for the other time-travelers and asking for a bit of their blood (gross!), she’s been trying to figure out what all the mysteries and prophecies surrounding the Circle really mean.

At least Gwen has plenty of help. Her best friend Lesley follows every lead diligently on the Internet. James the ghost teaches Gwen how to fit in at an eighteenth century party. And Xemerius, the gargoyle demon who has been following Gwen since he caught her kissing Gideon in a church, offers advice on everything. Oh, yes. And of course there is Gideon, the Diamond. One minute he’s very warm indeed; the next he’s freezing cold. Gwen’s not sure what’s going on there, but she’s pretty much destined to find out.

Emerald Green

(had to translate this little fucker on google translate cuz I didn't find anything on amazon or goodreads)

Gwendolyn is devastated. Gideon's confession of love was just a farce, to their great adversary, the dark Count of Saint Germain to play into their hands? It almost looks to the young time traveler like this. But then something incomprehensible, Gwennys world is once again on the head. For she and Gideon begins a breathtaking escape into the past. Exhilarating dance nights and chases the heroine expect reluctant and over all is the question of whether one can really heal a broken heart ...

I loved them so so much.... It's like you read a book and after you finish it you don't know what to do next with your life... Seriously! I hate this so much! I finished them almost a week ago (not really) and I have no idea what to read?! I can't read ANYTHING! I promise! And I love every piece of them! I really wanna have them. Like, in my bookshelf. And I can't cuz they're expensive! I mean, 10 euros for a book? Really?! I can't choose between them. I don't know which one is my favourite. I love the wittiness of the books. Kerstin did a great job with them! She plotted them SO well! I don't think I'll be able to read 4 books this month in this pace... I have this so much ._.

First of all, I love the story. I love that she combined two-- three if you add the historical things, of my favourite things in the world: time-travelling (whovian alert!) and romance! I really loved the way she combined the three. I loved the little stories at the beginning of every chapter because they would either give you a clue of what will happen or a paragraph from the Annals of the Guardians if Gwen goes back in time in that period. It's really awesome.

I love the way the character development. Especially Gideons' because we learn more about his personality and life. And also, we learn a fuckload about Gwen and can I say that we all hate Charlotte and Glenda? Yap. All hail her humiliation in the last book! Lastly, I want to say that I'm going down with the Raphael and Leslie ship! Don't mess with me, bitches!

The only think I don't think I liked is the ending of the last book. I didn't like it because I feel like it's been rushed a bit. Not Mocking-Jay rushed. No. I mean, it felt a little rushed. I dunno. I wanted to know more about Gwen and Gideon's relationship after the "annihilation" of the Count of Saint-Germain. And I wanted to know if Gwen would ever get a cat or dog!

I love Gideon and I can't stop ranting about it!!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my review of The Colours of Love (that's the Romanion name of the trilogy and I like it more than The Ruby Red trilogy!) and I hope that this made you read the books. I hope I can read something soon because I might die.... (actually, I'd read Warm Bodies, like, now, but I can't cuz I can't buy it cuz it's expensive and I hate reading on the computer)

Well, I have to go now.

Goodbye,
M.

P.S.: I hope you like the way my blog looks now, cuz I certainly do!

January wrap up and stuff

I need an iPod, like, now. Seriously! I used my cousins' the past week and I kinda need one of these.

This past month I read 5 books (say wuuut!) and I'd like to share my thoughts on them.

The first book I (re)read this past month is Divergent. I don't have to say anything about it.

Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan

How I wish I had this copy of the book!
This book blew my mind! IT'S SO AWESOME! I SWEAR!! It was SO well written!! I attempted to read David Levithan before I read this and I didn't really like it (because it was about politics), but I really liked this one! I thought it was so good! I loved that they could blend their different writing styles. I recommend this to anyone!

Matched by Ally Condie

I didn't really like this one :\ It got boring after Ky made his more often appearances. It got boring and annoying because of him. It seemed to be pushed too much and I really don't like it. Their "love" didn't feel real. Usually, in books, when two people kiss, I get butterflies in my stomach (which is weird as fuck) but I didn't get any this time! And I dunno why I didn't like it. Eh. I'd like to see what happens in the second book, but not so much :\

Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier

HOLY FUCKING GOD!! I actually finished this last week And I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! Oh my GOD!! And I only have about 20 pages left to read in the second book and I'M SO FUCKING EXCITED!! I don't know what happened and why Gwen's heart got crushed but I really wanna know and I want t finish the book by tomorrow. FUCK YEAH! I'm super excited!!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

I actually could've finished this book in December when I started it, but I couldn't because I didn't want to finish the book and be like "wait, what?! I just finished it?! But I WANTZ MOAR!" So i finished this book one or two weeks ago. I loved this. I mean, Charlie, can I just hug him and tell him everything's gonna be alright and that I could be his friend? I actually got teary eyed when I finished it. I loved it. Seriously. This book was awesome! I love the movie because they put more details about Sam and Patrick, and oh, how I love Patrick! Holy shit. Stephen Chbosky should write more books.

Anyway. This month I want to read several books. I want to read Sapphire Blue and Emerald Green by Kerstin Gier and then I'll see. I'm gonna probably read Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde because it sounds awesome and The Maze Runner by James Dashner because it also sounds amazing! I hope I can read these books. I'll finish Sapphire blue tonight or something, so that won't be a problem!

Anyway, I have to go cuz it's late and I have to wake up early in the morning.

Goodbye,
M.

P.S.: I need a pen name...
